Lucy joined Richards Commercial Lawyers (as it was then known) in 2010, following over nine years at a leading Adelaide commercial law firm, including as partner since 2007. 

She has advised large and small corporate clients including publicly listed companies and private companies, banks, credit unions, statutory corporations, franchisees, as well as sole traders, joint ventures, industry groups, partnerships and small businesses. 

Lucy is acknowledged as a pragmatic, strategic and effective lawyer. Her clients value her pro-active and responsive approach.

After graduating, Tom worked as an Associate to Justice White and Justice Bleby in the Supreme Court of South Australia for 18 months in 2005 and 2006.

Tom has since practised for nearly 20 years, almost exclusively in commercial litigation and dispute resolution.

Prior to joining our firm in 2017, Tom had worked at Fisher Jeffries (now Dentons) and Iles Selley Lawyers, becoming a partner of that firm in 2016.

Tom is versatile in a broad range of litigation matters, ranging from property and trust disputes, to employment, defamation and insolvency matters, and almost everything in between.

He regularly receives referrals from, or is asked to act for, individual members of the legal profession and legal firms alike.

Tom is regarded by clients and professional counterparts alike as a calm and perceptive lawyer, possessing a keen eye for detail, whilst being pragmatic and commercial in resolving disputes.

Tom Evans is a graduate of Flinders University and was admitted to practice in South Australia and the High Court in 2004.

A wealth of experience in all commercial litigation, but particularly in contentious Intellectual Property matters, including Patents, Designs, Trade Marks and Copyright.

Greg acts for clients large and small, in a diverse range of industries across Australia and in other countries.  Some of his clients are very well-known brands and businesses, and he has acted in many reported IP cases, including the first case in Australia concerning Innovation Patents (Delnorth v Durapost).

Greg has a broad network of legal contacts in Australia and overseas, and he works closely with Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys and IP Counsel on a daily basis.  He has given presentations regarding IP topics to audiences at Adelaide University, IPSANZ, and other IP legal conferences.

His experience and capabilities are recognised by repeated annual listings in peer and client Lawyer Review Guides for Intellectual Property Lawyers. Greg was recognised as Lawyer of The Year in International Property Law 2023, South Australia in Best Lawyers, and he is listed as a “Leading South Australian Intellectual Property Lawyer” by Doyle's Guide.

Recognition is not limited to South Australia, and he is well known throughout Australia and overseas by those who practice in the IP field.  In 2012, he was the recipient of WD-40’s Award of Excellence, which the famous US company WD-40 presents annually to a legal service provider from its global panel who has provided service excellence to the WD-40 Company.  Greg is also a South Australian Committee member of IPSANZ.

Greg joined Richards & Evans Commercial Lawyers in September 2020. From 1990 to 2020, he practised at Norman Waterhouse Lawyers, from 1996 as a Partner and Team Leader, Commercial Dispute Resolution, and also for some years as Chairman of Partners.

Nick commenced practicing in commercial litigation at Kelly & Co Solicitors (now HWL Ebsworth) before moving to London in 2000 to specialise in large scale construction and infrastructure disputes and overseeing the litigation requirements of a large UK telecommunications company. 

In 2009 he returned to Australia and joined ASIC’s Sydney office, pursuing market manipulation and insider trading offences under the Corporations Act, before returning to private legal practice in Adelaide in 2011. 

Nick has undertaken dispute resolution and advisory work for a variety of clients in the horticulture, transport and vehicle hire industries, to name just a few. His background in commercial litigation incorporates the conduct of matters involving Joint Venture, Partnership and Contractual Disputes as well as Insolvency, Trusts and Contested Wills and Estates.

His experience also extends to regulatory and government affairs, having recently managed compliance issues arising from information disclosure, party registration and public funding for the Electoral Commission of South Australia. 

Nick’s clients appreciate his wide-ranging experience, commercial acumen and strategic approach to achieving outcomes.

Nick Evans has a Bachelor of Economics and Law and was admitted to practice in South Australia and the High Court in 1995.

Since joining the firm, Tim has practised as a commercial lawyer, acting for clients in business transactions, as well property and leasing matters.  Tim has developed a particular interest in Wills, Estate Planning and Deceased Estates (including contested Estates).

Tim regularly receives referrals from conveyancers to represent their clients in property-related disputes and transactions that require specialist legal advice.

Tim’s skills and experience were recognised by the firm in 2020 when he was promoted to the position of Senior Associate.

After graduating from Charles Darwin University in 2011, Tim was admitted to practice and joined the firm as a solicitor in 2012.

She has been closely involved in the conduct of Intellectual Property proceedings in the Federal Court of Australia and Federal Circuit Court of Australia.

As well as practising in Intellectual Property, Isabelle also has experience in a range of commercial litigation matters, including Insolvency, Australian Consumer Law and Confidential Information.

Supplementing her litigation skills, and with the guidance of Senior Practitioners of the firm, Isabelle also prepares commercial documents , including Intellectual Property Assignments, Licences and Non-Disclosure Agreements, Website Terms,  Sales Terms and Privacy Policies.

Isabelle has presented workshops to colleagues and clients on the legal developments in Insolvency, including Safe Harbour and Ipso Facto Clauses as well as representing clients at Brand Protection seminars. She has been recognised as a Rising Star in Intellectual Property & TMT Law by Doyle's Guide in 2022 and 2023.

Isabelle Tye was admitted to practice in 2016 and has quickly gained experience in a wide range of Intellectual Property matters, working closely alongside Senior Practitioners in providing advice on enforcing and protecting Intellectual Property rights concerning Patents, Trade Marks, Copyright and Designs.

Ryan was admitted to practice in September 2020. After his admission and prior to joining our firm, Ryan worked in a Community Legal Centre where he gained invaluable experience assisting on both civil and criminal matters, including regularly appearing in both regional and metropolitan Courts.

Since joining our firm in August 2021, Ryan has assisted clients across a wide range of practice areas, including commercial and property advice and transactions, litigation and even compulsory acquisition matters.

During this time, he has become an invaluable member of our firm, assuming greater responsibility for client matters. 

Ryan is considered by clients and colleagues as a dependable and approachable lawyer who provides efficient and reliable advice and assistance.

Ryan graduated from Flinders University with a Bachelor of Laws and Legal Practice and a Bachelor of Business (Management) in early 2020. Ryan then completed his GDLP through the College of Law, whilst working full-time as a Law Graduate in a large South Australian commercial law firm.

Upon her return to Australia, she worked in various industries before pursuing her creative passion of photography, spending 15 years as a small business owner and manager.

Angela returned to Adelaide in 2020, joining Richards & Evans in a temporary capacity, before joining the firm on a permanent basis as our Office Administration Manager in 2021. She brings with her a proactive approach to managing the finances of the firm and ensuring the administrative support to our professional staff is smooth and efficient.

After starting her career in Banking & Securities in one of Adelaide’s larger law firms in 2000, Angela further developed her administrative skills working in London.

Jen is an accomplished member of our firm.  In her role as administrative assistant, she is often the first point of contact for clients and other people who communicate with our firm.

Jen supports all of our solicitors and partners in her key administrative role in the firm.

Jen joined the firm in 2021 after having spent a decade performing administrative support roles in several busy legal practices in Adelaide.
